United Studios announced the latest film it represents for worldwide sales excluding North America, “Nosferatu”, at the American Film Market.
The film starring Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water) as the infamous Count Orlok, was directed by David Fisher and produced by Zemrak Pirkle Productions and Artistry Media Group.
The original Nosferatu – A Symphony of Horror, shot in 1921, is hailed as both an influential masterpiece of cinema and the seminal cornerstone of the horror genre. The iconic image of Max Schreck’s menacing Count Orlok still lives on today, achieving universal cult status and holding overwhelming positive reviews as the first true vampire tale ever filmed.
Using up to 70% of the original footage as the back plate, traced and enhanced through use of the latest visual effects technology by Prodigital Lab, “Nosferatu” is presented in a modern day storytelling English language feature film, whilst keeping the screenplay as close as possible to the original silent movie masterpiece.
According to Fisher: “The spellbinding imagery of F. W. Murnau’s original Nosferatu still greatly influences today’s horror films. I wanted to revisit this legendary film not only for its cinematic significance, but most importantly to bring a modernized yet faithful homage of its terrifying tale to devoted fans and an entire new generation of film-goers around the world.”
“Nosferatu’s” post-production process will be completed in January 2019 and the film will be released in the same year. For more information, please send an email to enquiries@unitedstudios.net
